My job at NHBC

"When I started my career with NHBC as a Claims Administration Assistant, I would never have dreamed that a few years later I would be given the opportunity to be working as a fully trained and qualified Building Inspector. I have now recently moved to a home-based role where I am involved in reviewing loss reports from claims and associated risk management processes. This gives me the opportunity to liaise with my colleagues across a number of different disciplines - e.g. Engineering, Claims, Building Control and Inspection. I enjoy working for NHBC as the company has an excellent reputation, along with a well organised working environment. With hard work and dedication the opportunities to further my career have been endless!"

"I have worked my way up from Customer Service Assistant to Home Registration Manager. I have been given great support and encouragement by my managers to progress. There really are opportunities if you look for them."

"I really enjoy working at NHBC and feel the company has treated me well as a reward for the hard work and commitment I have given the company. I've come a long way since my early days as a professional footballer, during which I also gained a qualification as a building surveyor. This helped me to eventually secure a role with the NHBC as a Building Inspector once I'd hung up my football boots. After 2 years I was promoted to an Inspection Manager, where I had responsibility for a team of Inspectors. I'm now in a secondment role in our Claims Department as a Claims Area Manager, which has given me a broader view of the organisation as a whole. Now I don't only view things from one angle of the pitch, but can see the whole field as my job now involves working on resolving any problems our homeowners experience. I believe the company really lives the values of it's IIP status and looks after its employees as a reward for its employees doing their bit for the company. I work hard, but enjoy the rewards of being part of a winning team."
