Raising standards to protect homeowners
Our environmental goals
NHBC is committed to improving it's environmental performance and has made positive changes in many areas.
The following challenging targets were set in 2008 for 2009 and onwards:
- Improve our premises energy efficiency by a further 15% by the end of 2012.
- Reduce the total waste produced on our premises by a further 20% by the end of 2012.
- Maintain a recycling rate of minimum 90% of the total waste produced on our premises.
- Reduce car fleet emissions per driver by a further 10% by 2012.
- Reduce water use on our premises by a further 20% by end 2012.
- Reduce our Carbon Footprint by a further 10% by 2012.
We'll be revising these targets during 2011 based on our experiences and sucesses in meeting these measures.
In order to ensure Environmental and other CR aspects acheive integration within the organisation roles and responsibilities are at board level.
