Part L 2013 - transitional provisions due to expire

6 April 2014 will see the implementation of Part L 2013 which will introduce a 6% uplift over Part L 2010 across the build mix.

The transitional provisions will expire on 5 April 2014 and will be the same as those for the 2010 regulations:

We are anticipating a high volume of submissions ahead of this date. To meet the transitional provisions, submit your site details by completing a Site Notification and Initial Notice form as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

Initial Notices submitted on or after 6 April 2014 will need to meet Part L 2013 and achieve a 6% improvement over Part L 2010.

In some cases applications will be in respect of a number of buildings on a site, for example a number of houses. In such cases it is the commencement of work on the first of the buildings within the application which determines whether all the building work can take advantage of the transitional provisions, not each individual building.
