Predicted Energy Assessments - requirement suspended
In England & Wales HIP legislation requires a Predicted Energy Assessment (PEA) for the marketing of homes under construction. This one page document shows the Predicted 'Energy Efficiency rating' and 'Environmental Impact (CO2) rating' charts.
Following the coalition government announcement on 20 May 2010, HIP legislation and the need for PEAs is currently suspended.
Some customers still ask for PEAs for a variety of reasons and NHBC energy assessors can provide them on request.
An Energy performance certificate (EPC) is still required by the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive, though it can only be produced once a home is complete.
