Environmental Site Inspections
New waste management legislation is forcing constructors to seriously consider the environmental impact of their developments. Exercising this duty of care doesn't have to be costly and can protect you from prosecution.
NHBC offers an Environmental Site Inspection service which highlights discrepancies between policy and working practise, suggests improvements and provides the reassurance that all legislation is being adhered to on site.
Areas covered include:
- Environmental policy and management systems
- Pollution to water and land
- Stewardship of flora and fauna identified on site
- Statutory nuisance
- Waste separation and management
- Sustainable construction
- Atmospheric pollution
Site inspections will take place regularly at agreed intervals in line with construction activities and appropriate environmental protection and pollution control measures will be recommended.
Areas of inspection won't only be limited to the site area itself but will also include environmental conditions within the vicinity which are likely to be directly or indirectly affected.
Sites will be judged according to current statutory requirements but where organisations have an Environmental Management System (EMS) already in place, a comparison to industry best practise will be made.
Working with NHBC means:
- extensive experience in providing solutions to the house building and construction industry
- spot check visits every 2-3 months so environmental issues are always at the forefront of your mind
- competent consultants
- expert construction industry advice
- a trusted supplier.
