Project design reviews

As part of our series of initiatives to help our registered builders and developers deliver high quality new homes, we now offer our project design review service on all projects, not just on those where we’re carrying out Building Control.

What is a project design review?

One of our surveyors will review your project design details against key risk areas of NHBC Standards. Their aim is to identify any potential issues for your project as early as possible, to mitigate the risks arising during construction where they have the potential to cost you time and money.

This is a service we’ve been successfully offering for some time to clients who take NHBC Warranty and NHBC Building Control but we’re now extending the service to all projects.

How will it work?

When we receive your Site Notification Initial Notice (SNIN), one of our surveyors will assess it and we will ask for a Site Investigation Report to start our risk management process.

Our surveyor will review the information against the key risk areas of NHBC Standards and our site inspector will discuss any issues they can foresee with your site manager at the pre- start meeting.

Efficient, flexible risk management

This new system of project design reviews is flexible and will be adapted depending on the size and complexity of each project. By working more closely with you from the earliest stages of your project we aim to play an integral part in your risk management, helping you to deliver high quality homes that are right first time.
