Code for Sustainable Homes consultation
Code consultation launched
On 17th December 2009, Housing Minister John Healey announced a consultation to improve the Code for Sustainable Homes, covering both policy and technical aspects of the Code, saying it is time "to make it a more user-friendly standard for consumers."
The consultation outlined three key areas:
- Aligning the Code with the latest Zero Carbon homes policy, and consulting on the new energy efficiency standard
- Streamlining the Standard and processes to reduce unnecessary bureaucracy
- Finding practical solutions to problems that have arisen to date.
NHBC responded to the consultation which closed on 24 March 2010.
