Regulatory Update for Sustainability

CLG released the latest Technical Guide for the Code for Sustainable Homes (Code) in May 2009.

One major change is the use of the government's new "national calculation methodology for assessing water efficiency in new dwellings, for calculating water consumption for issue WAT1, Indoor water use.

NHBC has tested this on a typical scheme working to Code level 3, and found that the requirements may in some cases be less onerous when compared to previous versions of the Code Technical Guide, or additional credits can be achieved for the same specification.
