How can we influence construction quality?

A key topic at the 2019 'Building for tomorrow' events, this session will highlight the Construction Quality Team and the work that it does. It will cover how the team can help registered builders on all aspects of the process (design, procurement, materials, skills/knowledge, etc.), as well as what some builders are doing to influence construction quality.

Approved document part M volume 1 – frequently asked questions

This webinar will review the FAQ document that was raised by Ministry of Housing in December 2017 and will provide further clarification as to the intention or interpretation of the technical guidance.

Flat roofs

As innovative ways of waterproofing flat roofs are increasingly used in the construction of new homes, the complexities of getting it right grows. NHBC hasnoticed a sharp increase over the past 12 months in the number of claims we have received for water ingress to homes because of poorly designed and installed flat roofs. Frustratingly, and all too often, the expensive failure can be put down to foreseeable defects. In this session we look at some of the basics of flat roof waterproofing and provide guidance to help you get it right.

Pitched Roofs

This session will also be broadcast in two parts, broadly split into flat and pitched, and including a focus on water penetration through roof coverings.
