On 25 March 2010, NHBC hosted a special election night in its Knowlhill offices with the local MP, Phyllis Starkey, and her opponents for the seat of Milton Keynes South, Conservative Iain Stewart and Liberal Democrat Peter Jones. The event was chaired by NHBC's Head of Corporate Affairs, Lewis Sidnick.
The 2 hour long event provided local constituents and businesses the chance to listen to each candidate's priorities in the areas of housing, local infrastructure and the local economy in the run up to the 2010 General Election.
NHBC Chief Executive Imtiaz Farookhi commented: "NHBC is a major employer in Milton Keynes, and as such, we felt it was important to provide this useful opportunity for the three main parties to come together and share practical views on their policies. It also provided local residents with the opportunity to question those policies and gather information on housing as well as other important local issues in preparation for the General Election."
