Special Awards - Judging Criteria and Process

Best Occupational Health Initiative

This award will celebrate the outstanding achievements of all those involved in workplace health and wellbeing, and recognise innovation, teamwork, leadership and quality.

It will look for initiatives which deliver solutions for workplace health challenges. This could be introducing a policy or practice and being able to demonstrate that it has benefited the target group. It could also involve innovative ways of giving employees access to Occupational Health services, introducing a new mechanism that enables early intervention by occupational health, or taking a proactive approach to improving employee health.

Best Health and Safety Worker Engagement Programme

You will need to provide evidence of innovation and tenacity in engaging a diverse workforce. The judges will be looking for evidence of true worker representation and consultation as well as communication and training programmes that have delivered change.

Submissions should demonstrrate the contribution workers can make in creating a safer working environment by bringing the benefit of their experiences.

Best Individual Health and Safety Leader

You will need to provide evidence of how a senior manager or director is demonstrating top-level commitment to health and safety and how this commitment is translating into tangible results.

This is about how the health and safety culture of an organisation can be shaped by the actions of a particular individual, whether by their direct involvement in initiatives or by providing the resource and the will that has made change possible.

Award Deadline
