What should I do if I continue to have 'drying out' problems in my home?

During the first two years after the property was completed you should:

  • Contact the builder in writing to report any defects, and be sure to keep a copy of the letter.
  • If in dispute with your builder contact your local NHBC office.
  • NHBC will assist in ensuring that the builder puts right anything which is contrary to NHBC requirements, or may carry out the appropriate remedial work itself.

If, after the first two years, moisture persists and you think the cause may be structural please contact NHBC.
