NHBC teams up with Shelter
NHBC is committed to helping communities at national and international level. Following its involvement with international housing charity, Habitat for Humanity (HFH), where NHBC raised over £200,000, this year we are pleased to announce that we have formed a charitable partnership with UK housing and homelessness charity, Shelter
NHBC has a strong synergy with Shelter, which helps more than 170,000 people a year find and keep a home. With repossessions in the UK at an all time high, by partnering with Shelter, NHBC's support will make a real difference to people in housing need.
NHBC's Chief Executive, Imtiaz Farookhi said: "This year we were keen to support a relevant UK-focussed charity and are delighted to be working with Shelter. The aims and values of Shelter, particularly in terms of increasing the volume and raising the standard of homes, fit well with our core purpose of setting and raising construction standards. As well as becoming the lead sponsor of Shelter's 'Architect in The House' initiative, we have pledged to raise £20,000 over the next 12 months. Our relationship will benefit a range of people in the UK facing housing need, a need which has been exacerbated by the downturn."
Adam Sampson, Shelter's Chief Executive, says: "We are delighted to be working in partnership with the NHBC, where we have so many areas of shared interest. It is through companies such as the NHBC that Shelter can continue to help desperate people in housing need and campaign for the right to a decent home for everyone. We look forward to a rewarding and fun year ahead working with them."
