Site managers building exceptional homes shortlisted for coveted regional titles

Around 450 top achieving site managers have been recognised in the first round of judging for the annual NHBC (National House-Building Council) Pride in the Job Awards, and are now shortlisted for a regional title.

New to this year's Awards, Pride in the Job has also for the first time recognised site managers overseeing Single Plot builds, making the competition fully inclusive of all NHBC's registered builders.

Pride in the Job recognises outstanding quality in house-building throughout the UK. It rewards the best site managers, who are responsible for managing the construction of new homes from start to finish; having a unique influence on the overall quality of the finished product.

Shortlisted for a first-round Quality Award or Single Plot Commendation from over 13,000 site managers across the UK, the select group have excelled in twelve months of rigorous judging. All aspects of the homes they have built were assessed against NHBC's technical standards.

Isabel Hudson, Executive Chairman of NHBC, the UK's leading standards setting and consumer warranty body for new UK homes, said:

"For over 30 years, Pride in the Job has been one of the cornerstones of NHBC's work to improve housing standards for the benefit of home-owners. It is the only UK-wide competition that is dedicated to, and directly recognises, site managers who demonstrate commitment to achieving high standards in house-building. It has been extremely successful over the years in promoting and encouraging best practice on site.

"Highly regarded within the industry, winners earn the true respect of their peers. Anyone gaining a first-round award is already in the top three percent of their profession, and they can be very proud of their achievement."

Regional Winners will be announced at Regional Awards ceremonies in the autumn, with successful individuals then progressing to the Grand Gala Final in London in January, hoping to be crowned as one of the best house-building site managers in the UK.
