Milton Keynes pupils get online thanks to NHBC laptops

NHBC, the leading warranty and insurance provider for new homes in the UK, recently donated over 100 laptops and computers to two schools local to their head office in Milton Keynes.

50 laptops and 50 desktop computers were handed over to The Milton Keynes Academy in Leadenhall, with another 20 laptops and a PC donated to The Willows School and Early Years Centre in Fishermead.

Following a large-scale IT upgrade, the components and hardware had become surplus to requirements, so were cleaned up and rebuilt by IT experts at Knowlhill-based NHBC, ready to be put into use by hundreds of pupils at the two schools.

Carl Stokes, Head of IT at NHBC, explained; "A major upgrade across the business to improve efficiency and internal processes last year meant we no longer had a need for a large number of laptops and PCs, despite them having a lot of life left in them.

"Rather than recycle them and because NHBC is always looking to support the local community, we identified two local schools that would be able to put them to good use. We were therefore very happy to hand them over and hope that the pupils and staff at both The Willows and The Milton Keynes Academy get plenty of fun and enjoyment from using them."
