The development offers a variety of 3, 4 and 5-bedroom family homes all within close proximity of a newly built primary school, a range of upper schools, and the homes benefit from an NHBC warranty./p>

The visit organised by NHBC, the leading warranty and insurance provider for new homes in the UK, highlights the risk management processes and showed Mr Mackintosh a prime example of new homes that meet current building regulations. In the wider region of East Midlands, NHBC's registration figures show that in the first six months of 2015, the number of new homes registered with NHBC in the East Midlands increased by 9% on the same period last year, from 6,521 in Q1 & Q2 2014 to 7,137 in Q1 & Q2 2015.

Commenting on the visit, Mr Mackintosh said: "Northampton is a growing town and demand for housing has been steadily increasing here as it has in other parts of the country. To provide for the future prosperity of the town it is vital that we meet that demand with good quality housing.

"In recent years we have been working hard to make Northampton a great place to work, live and do business, and developments such as this are a key part of that plan."

Construction Director for Bellway Homes, Paul Smits, commented: "Bellway Homes is totally committed to working closely with NHBC to ensure that all of its properties meet the required building standards. Buying a new home is probably the most expensive purchase that people make in their lives, and it is hugely important they know that all of our properties are covered by the 10 year NHBC Buildmark warranty. We are obviously delighted that Abington Chase in Northampton has been put in the spotlight today to highlight the important work carried out by NHBC."

Lewis Sidnick, NHBC's Head of Corporate and External Affairs said: "We were delighted to be able to show David Mackintosh first-hand how we are supporting builders to construct high quality family homes in Northampton South. As the industry works to meet the growing need for housing, it is vital that we deliver high standards on-site. NHBC will continue to work with the industry and all political parties to ensure that the build quality of new homes in the UK remains high."
