The regional winners of the Pride in the Job Awards, run by NHBC (National House-Building Council), beat a shortlist of exceptionally skilled site managers to take the title in their categories. Their success was recognised last Friday (23 September) at a ceremony held at the ICC in Birmingham. Chosen from over 13,000 site managers nationwide working on projects registered with NHBC, the UK's leading new-home warranty and insurance provider, they will now represent the West at the competition's grand final in January, hoping to secure their place as the nation's best housebuilder. The winners are:

Geoff Hale, of family business Firstpost Homes Ltd

Geoff won the Small Builder category for his development, The Rocklands, in Lichfield; a regular winner, Geoff is a small developer concentrating on building large detached luxury homes, his sites featuring excellent brickwork detailing

Tony Armson, of William Davis Ltd

Tony won the Medium Builder category for his work on the Cawston Fields and Cawston Chase developments in Rugby; a perennial performer in Pride in the Job, with a true passion for building high quality homes, Tony secured a hat-trick of consecutive Supreme wins in 2010/11, and will now hope to make it a fantastic fourth at this year's gala

Simon Jones, of David Wilson Homes Mercia

Simon won the Large Builder category title for his Churchfields site in West Bromwich; last year's regional winner, Simon oversees a fast moving site notable for its outstanding substructure work, exemplifying Pride in the Job's ethos by demonstrating a continual improvement in build standards year on year

Pride in the Job is the only awards scheme to reward site managers for the unique contribution they make to the housebuilding process, being responsible for delivering high quality homes by directing projects from start to finish.

Pete Watton, NHBC Regional Director for the West of England, said:

"Pride in the Job has been instrumental in raising the build quality of new homes in the UK for over three decades, with housebuilders now routinely striving for perfection in their work. A Pride in the Job award at any level marks the recipient out as a top performer, showing their true diligence and commitment to producing the best quality homes possible, but to win a Regional title demonstrates something just that little bit special."
