The regional winners of the Pride in the Job Awards, run by NHBC (National House-Building Council), beat a shortlist of exceptionally skilled site managers to take the title in their categories. Their success was recognised last Friday (4 November) at a ceremony held at the Culloden Hotel in Belfast. Chosen from over 13,000 site managers nationwide working on projects registered with NHBC, the UK's leading new-home warranty and insurance provider, they will now represent Northern Ireland and the Isle of Man at the competition's grand final in January, hoping to secure their place as the nation's best housebuilder. The winners are:

Ricky Morrow, of Vaughan Developments Ltd

Ricky won the Small Builder category for his Limetree Manor site in Lisburn, Co. Antrim; a previous first round winner, this year Ricky added a Seal of Excellence and Regional title to his collection, making a complicated design a reality on an apartment built to a meticulous standard

Conor McVeigh and Mark Patton, of Heritage Homes Ltd

Conor and Mark won the Medium Builder category for their work on their Ballanard Road development in Douglas, Isle of Man; these sizable, high specification, high priced houses showcase exceptional quality

Stephen Orr, of Fraser Homes Ltd

Stephen won the Multistorey Builder category title for his Sandown Manor site in Belfast; early engagement with NHBC ensured potential issues at this site were avoided, which, combined with Stephen's attention to detail, led to a finished product of excellent quality

Pride in the Job is the only awards scheme to reward site managers for the unique contribution they make to the housebuilding process, being responsible for delivering high quality homes by directing projects from start to finish.

David Little, NHBC Regional Director for Northern Ireland and the Isle of Man, said:

"Pride in the Job has been instrumental in raising the build quality of new homes in the UK for over three decades, with housebuilders now routinely striving for perfection in their work. A Pride in the Job award at any level marks the recipient out as a top performer, showing their true diligence and commitment to producing the best quality homes possible, but to win a Regional title demonstrates something just that little bit special."
