Pride in the Job is designed to be fully inclusive and representative of the UK house-building industry. There are 5 builder categories and 4 levels of awards to be won.
Pride in the Job categories
Site managers are entered into 1 of 5 builder categories:
1. Single home 
This new category recognises sole traders with site management responsibilities or site managers employed by a company who are building 1 home on a site.
2. Small builder
For sole traders or site managers employed by a company (or group of companies) who register between 2 and 50 new homes for NHBC warranty cover each year.
3. Medium builder
For site managers employed by a company or group who register between 51 and 1000 new homes with NHBC each year.
4. Large builder
For site managers employed by a company or group who register 1001 or more new homes with NHBC each year.
5. Multi-storey builder
For site managers working on multi-storey projects i.e. structures five storeys or more for multi-occupancy. This category recognises the different skill set required to run this type of site.
Award Stages
Pride in the Job has 4 levels of award, culminating in the Supreme Awards presented at the gala ceremony in London.
Stage 1 - Quality Awards and Single Home Commendation Award
Quality Awards, usually announced in June, are presented to the best 430 site managers in the Small, Medium, Large and Multi-Storey builder categories
Single Home Commendation Awards will be presented this year to the best site managers who are building a single unit.
Stage 2 - Seal of Excellence Awards
Seal of Excellence Awards are presented to the top 130 site managers (split by region), selected from the 430 Quality Award winners. Seal of Excellence Awards are presented in the Autumn at a series of award ceremonies held in all the regions across the UK.
Stage 3 - Regional Awards
From the Seal of Excellence winners in each region, one overall Regional Winner is selected in each of the five builder categories, single home, small, medium, large and multi-storey. Regional Awards are also presented at the Pride in the Job Regional award ceremonies. These Regional Winners go forward as candidates for the Supreme Awards.
Stage 4 - Supreme Awards
The Supreme Award Winners are the overall national winners in each of the five builder categories, selected from the pool of Regional Winners. The UK Supreme Award winners are announced at the prestigious Gala ceremony in London in January each year.
