NHBC Names UK Supreme Winners In Jubilee Pride in the Job Awards 13/01/06
Three site managers have been awarded the ultimate accolade of UK's best house-building site manager in the grand finals of NHBC's Pride in the Job competition.
After a year of rigorous judging, the site managers have made it through three rounds of the competition, which is currently in its Jubilee year, and beaten over 18,000 site managers to take the Supreme Award titles. They were presented with their awards by first lady of property, Kirstie Allsopp, tonight at a Gala ceremony in London.
The three Supreme winners are:
Bill Hughes of Miller Homes North West Ltd won the Supreme Award in the large builder category, completing an amazing `Supreme hat trick'. This is Bill's third Supreme title in a row for his management of Regents Square, Grappenhall in Warrington.
Christopher Strong won the Supreme Award in the small to medium builder category for his management of 140 new homes at Woodlands Park, Great Dunmow in Essex. A site manager for the Wickford Development Company, he also won a Supreme Award in 2000.
Stephen Vorres, winner of the Supreme Award in the multistorey category, won for his management of Taylor Woodrow Construction's development `Victoria Wharf' in Cardiff Bay.
Speaking at the awards, NHBC's Chief Executive, Imtiaz Farookhi said; "NHBC's Pride in the Job competition is celebrating its Jubilee anniversary, and much as it was in 1980, the competition is about rewarding house building site managers who really go that extra mile in producing the best quality new homes. This year we have seen three outstanding Supreme winners who have raised the bar yet again."
Pride in the Job rewards site managers who demonstrate the highest levels of professionalism in every aspect of their work on site, from their organisation of the site to the quality controls in place. As one of the most intense and celebrated competitions in the industry, Pride in the Job is famous for establishing its winners as the best in their field.
