Selling your home
Buildmark is intended to benefit every owner of the home during the 10 year period of cover. So, if you sell the home and the Buildmark policy has not expired, the new owner gets the benefit of the remaining term of cover.
Transferring the policy
All you need to do is give the insurance certificate and policy document to the new owners on completion of the sale. Your solicitor will usually request the documents from you at the start of the conveyancing process and pass these on to your buyers' solicitor on your behalf.
