Building for tomorrow
The number one event for house‑building professionals

In light of the uncertainty faced around COVID-19, NHBC has taken the decision to cancel a number of forthcoming events including Building for tomorrow.

This is a precaution to protect the health and wellbeing of our delegates, exhibitors, speakers and team members. If you’ve booked to attend, please check your inbox for information about refunds and alternative arrangements.

Welcome to Building for tomorrow 2020

Our focus this year is all about helping you manage milestones, meet expectations and maximise quality.

Building for tomorrow is our annual event programme focused on bringing you the latest technical and regulatory updates in house-building, delivered by key experts from NHBC and others across the industry.

Building for tomorrow has been running for nearly 30 years, and as one previous delegate put it, “If you only attend one event in a year, make sure it’s Building for tomorrow!”.

New for 2020: New and improved London event with conference streams focused on high-rise and low-rise building methods

The focus for the 2020 events will be on:
‘Managing Milestones, Meeting Expectations, Maximising Quality’

Information for delegates

Many delegates return to Building for tomorrow year after year but if you’ve not been before you may be interested to hear what previous attendees thought about the event.

What last year's delegates had to say...

Well planned out seminar, sufficient breaks and like the format / length of each section as is long enough to provide sufficient information but short enough to keep the attention of everyone.

Well run day with a good variety of speakers and topics.

All interesting and very important subjects which relate to the future and the quality in the whole industry.

Overall, great event – thoroughly enjoyed the day.

An excellent day, we all need to focus on doing the best we can to promote our industry.

Really interesting presentations. Great presenters who kept their presentations quick and engaging.

Was great to see that so many people are trying hard to improve on what we do.

A very informative and interesting seminar.

2020 will focus on three key themes:

Managing milestones

It’s hard keeping up with the rapidly changing regulatory agenda so come along to Bft 2020. With so much happening and government consultations concluding it’s a great opportunity to learn about how these will affect your business and the homes you build.

Meeting expectations

Whether it's skills, products or standards, expectations need to be met and reputations upheld. How can we be sure that products are being used in the correct way? How do we know if our trades onsite have the right skills for the task? Training the trades, awareness of construction product performance and creating the right culture all have their part to play in meeting consumer expectations in the future. Bft 2020 will look at what’s new and how knowledge can be improved.

Maximising quality

It wouldn’t be Bft if we didn’t talk about quality! With a New Homes Ombudsman, skills challenges and MMC all impacting our industry, it’s not enough to just maintain quality so help to give it the focus it deserves.

Bft 2020 will be no exception, with an excellent range of speakers lined up make sure you get your ticket.
