Replacing Manage Buildmark Acceptance (MBA), our Conveyancing Portal offers conveyancers fast and easy access to Buildmark cover information and all the associated documents to quickly complete the Buildmark due diligence and activation process.
The Conveyancing Portal design is based on feedback from the industry and offers a number of enhancements to ensure the new system is:
We’ve improved the management of case allocations and upgraded system user management tools.
Data supplied to us from the builder will be automatically uploaded to Conveyancing Portal enabling your teams to simply validate client data rather than re-key builder-supplied plot information.
Your teams will now be automatically notified as soon as a cover note is available and endorsements will be visible prior to a certificate being produced.
Already registered with MBA? Your details will have automatically been moved from MBA into the new system, all you need to do is create a new password. New to Conveyancing Portal? Simply click on the button below and register your details.
When a plot is registered with us, we send the builder/developer a policy number and an activation code. They can also access Conveyancing Portal via their own account to obtain this information if required.
The data supplied to us from the builder will be automatically uploaded to the Conveyancing Portal, so all the conveyancer needs is the client's email address to access their case.
Otherwise, the builder/developer forwards the policy number and activation code to the plot purchaser's conveyancer.
The conveyancer goes online and logs in to their secure Conveyancing Portal account and uses the policy number and activation code to access plot details to check that cover is in place before exchange of contracts / exchange of missives.
The conveyancer uses the system to notify us when exchange of contracts / exchange of missives takes place and updates the purchaser's details which will activate the deposit insurance protection (section 1) available under the Buildmark policy.
The conveyancer uses the system again to notify us when legal completion / date of entry takes place and activates the Buildmark policy on behalf of the buyer.
NHBC will validate the completion information. Once approved, the insurance certificate and associated documents will be available to download.
Once we have received the purchaser’s details we will send them an invitation to sign up to NHBC Home User Guide (HUG). It’s important to remind your purchaser that this is where they acknowledge their Buildmark policy.
