Whistleblowing Concerns

The National House Building Council (NHBC) operates an independent, externally hosted whistleblowing website and hotline system (Ethics Point) to make it easier to raise concerns about issues that relate to NHBC (i.e. bribery or corruption, damage to the environment, fraud, health and safety breaches, falsification of records and violation of policy). A whistleblowing concern will involve some form of risk, wrongdoing or malpractice, actual or perceived, where there is a risk to others, e.g. to NHBC customers, consumers, members of staff, or the general public. Whistleblowing concerns should not be confused with complaints about our service, which can be reported here.

NHBC is committed to fostering a culture of openness, honesty and accountability and requires the highest possible standards of professional and ethical conduct of itself and from all employees. EthicsPoint exists to receive reports of unlawful or inappropriate conduct from all who have a relationship with NHBC (employees, builders, developers, policyholders, suppliers etc.) and as such all reports to EthicsPoint are in confidence, will be taken seriously and will be treated fairly and justly.

To raise a concern and make a report you can contact EthicsPoint in a number of ways:

Freephone 0800 069 8029 - This is a dedicated NHBC line so they will automatically know which organisation you are calling about. You’ll be transferred to a specially trained person who is waiting to record your concerns.

nhbc.ethicspoint.com - If you'd rather not speak to an agent, you can send a confidential report by either logging onto the above website address, or on a mobile device via the unique NHBC QR Code below:

Whichever way you choose to contact EthicsPoint, you will be given a unique case number which you MUST keep safely to receive feedback. Lost case numbers and passwords will result in you having to report the concern again.

Unless you choose to identify yourself, there is no way of NHBC knowing who has left a message.
