NHBC have a fantastic opportunity for a Project Building Inspector to work within Central/North London.  Based from home and covering a defined geographical area, the position involves being responsible for the inspection of a range of construction projects, predominantly housing whilst contributing to the inspection of other developments and planning inspection visits to sites. The job holder will be providing technical advice and guidance on construction, inspecting construction projects at key stages in response to requests from builders and assessing applications for construction projects.

The successful candidate will:

-Take responsibility for the inspection of new homes under construction and/or associated uses

-Plan inspection visits to construction sites ensuring agreed service levels are met

-Provide technical expertise, advice and guidance on construction

-Inspect homes at key stages of construction in response to requests from builders

-Record and report results of inspections to builders and their representatives

-Record and maintain accurate inspection records

-Assess sites for NHBC’s ‘Pride in the Job’ quality campaign

-Assess and report on the technical competence of builders applying for NHBC Registration

Salary / Benefits:

-£35,300 - £39,000.00 (dependent upon experience)

-6% bonus dependent upon performance

About you:

Qualified to NVQ Level 6 or equivalent in a construction related discipline with relevant construction

industry experience and extensive experience of the inspection of new homes. Experience of inspecting

multi-storey developments up to 7 storeys would be a distinct advantage. Associate/Technical

membership of an appropriate recognised professional institute, ideally the CIOB, CABE, RICS or similar

will be beneficial. A Role 3 Assessment will need to be passed in order to be recruited into this position.
