Minister of State in the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero and MP for Beverley and Holderness, Graham Stuart, has visited Bovis Homes’ Longfields development in Beverley to congratulate its award winning site manager.

The visit on Friday 3rd February was to honour Matt Earnshaw who has won a Seal of Excellence in the NHBC (National House Building Council) Pride in the Job Quality Awards.

The awards have been running for over 40 years, helping to drive construction quality in new homes and celebrating the very best site managers across the country.

Speaking about his award, Matt said: “I am extremely proud to have been among the Seal of Excellence winners at this year’s Pride in the Job Awards. It is a real team effort and it’s fantastic that our commitment to delivering the highest quality homes has been recognised. It was a pleasure to welcome Graham Stuart MP to the development and to show him the new community we’re creating.”

Graham, who was joined by Peter Stevens, Conservative Ward Representative for St Mary’s and local council candidate Harry Bulmer, enjoyed a tour of the site and spoke with Matt and his colleagues, area build managers John Firth and Liam Knowles, about his award and the development.

Graham Stuart MP said: “It was great to visit Longfields Development and congratulate Matt on his amazing achievement. When new homes are built in Beverley we want them to be built to the highest quality and to fit in with the area which is why I am so pleased that Matt has won this prestigious award.”

“The Pride in the Job Awards are about celebrating the highest standards of house building and championing top calibre site managers,” commented Toby Hollis, Regional Director, North East at NHBC. “Matt’s work at the Longfields development is an example of a great site manager taking real pride in his team’s work, resulting in quality homes its residents will enjoy.”

Longfields currently offers a choice of three and four bedroom homes and residents will benefit from an area of  green open space.
