What does being an NHBC registered builder mean?

Only builders and developers who can demonstrate financial security and technical competence are accepted onto the NHBC register. We carry out commercial and technical assessments of all applicant builders and developers before offering 'registered' status.

All our registered builders agree to comply with the NHBC Rules and build homes to the NHBC Standards of construction.

Financial security

We carry out commercial assessments on all of our registered builders to ensure your investment is safe and will remain safe.

Technical assurance

NHBC will assess the builder's technical ability to build to NHBC standards, carrying out site based assessments at key stages throughout the build process.

High quality

All registered builders agree to comply with the NHBC Standards, ensuring homes built in accordance with regulations.
