New home registrations down in Q1 as house builders face ‘perfect storm’ of rising costs and falling demand, NHBC reports

Figures released today by the National House Building Council (NHBC), the UK’s largest provider of new home warranties and insurance, show 26,959 new homes were registered to be built in Q1 2026, down 6% on Q1 2025 (28,715).
