Background

Sudit studied Business and Management with Finance Studies at the University of Sussex. This also included a professional placement year to develop skills and experience in the workplace. After looking at potential options via the university’s careers website he learned about the NHBC Graduate Programme and decided to apply.

Joining NHBC’s Business Graduate Programme

Sudit was successful and joined the programme in September 2024. He explained “Even though I was specifically interested in a role in the Data and Analytics department I felt that, especially early on in my career, it would be important to build a solid base of knowledge and the rotational nature of the programme was perfect for this.”

What do you enjoy most about your current position?

As part of the programme graduates get to experience working in four different areas of the organisation: Standards, Innovation and Research, Underwriting, Commercial Services and Claims Operations.

Sudit explained “I am currently working in Claims and I have really appreciated the opportunity to increase my knowledge of a new industry as well as learning about the ways in which different departments approach workflow.”

How has NHBC supported you?

During the two-year programme NHBC provides the tools, resources and support graduates need to learn and develop.

Sudit said “Everyone at NHBC is very welcoming and friendly. We are encouraged to talk to people from different departments and at different levels across the organisation. I think the workplace culture at NHBC is something that really allows employees to flourish and provide the best outcomes.”

Why did you want to work at NHBC?

Sudit answered “There are many reasons why I applied for the NHBC Graduate Programme. I knew I wanted to move into data analysis but build a significant base of knowledge as well, which this programme will enable me to do. Additionally, the mission and values of the company align well to my own and the workplace culture was also a big attraction for me. NHBC is diverse and welcoming, which is something I really value.”
