Data Literacy Lead
Salary: £58,000 - £60,053 plus 10% performance bonus

Job Summary:
We’re looking for a Data Literacy Lead to help shape an inclusive data culture where everyone, whatever their role or background, can understand, interpret, and use data with confidence. You’ll design engaging learning pathways, lead awareness campaigns, and make data approachable and meaningful for all.
Reporting to the Senior Data Enablement Manager, you’ll work across business, digital, and data teams to create practical, inspiring learning experiences that reflect different levels of skill, interest, and need. This is a key role in helping NHBC use data effectively, ethically, and with impact.
What you’ll do
- Design and deliver NHBC’s data literacy programme, from structured learning to drop in sessions and toolkits
- Develop accessible, engaging materials for onboarding, induction, and role specific learning
- Run awareness activities such as campaigns, lunch & learns, and data champion networks
- Partner with business units to identify skills gaps and tailor content accordingly
- Collaborate with governance and quality leads to embed good data habits and responsible use
- Measure engagement, confidence, and impact through feedback and surveys
- Act as a coach and advisor, supporting colleagues with their data questions
- Curate and maintain an easy-to-access library of tools, templates, and learning resources
- Promote a shared language and understanding of data across NHBC
What you’ll bring
- Experience in training, coaching, or capability building within a data or digital environment
- Proven ability to engage and inspire non-technical audiences
- Experience creating inclusive and engaging learning materials in varied formats
- Excellent facilitation, communication, and organisation skills
- A supportive, empathetic, and approachable style
- Understanding of data literacy principles and the role of data in business decision-making
- Awareness of data governance, quality, and ethics
- Familiarity with tools like Power BI or Tableau
- Degree or equivalent experience in education, communication, data, or digital transformation
