An introductory guide - concept of Zero Carbon

Produced in association with the Zero Carbon Hub, this guide is designed to help builders understand the issues associated with the definition of zero carbon. Launched in December 2008, it helps explain the concept of zero carbon, providing a useful starting point for small and medium sized builders who have not yet faced the challenge of building above the current Building Regulation standards.

This NHBC Foundation guide examines how energy is used in a home, why the target for zero carbon homes exists and how this is being encouraged. The guide aims to provide builders and developers with an understanding of the subject so that workable and sufficiently flexible solutions can be explored for developments of all kinds of homes.
