Checking and accepting Buildmark cover on a new home
You can check a home has Buildmark cover before exchange of contracts or print policy documentation here.
Duplicate Insurance Documents

If an NHBC registered builder or developer becomes insolvent and an insolvency practitioner is appointed, arrangements must be made with us before any homes registered for Buildmark warranty can be sold. Please call us on 0344 633 1000* and ask for 'Insolvent Builder' or email us.

For enquiries by Housing Associations, Local Authorities and other parties involved in new homes for social, affordable rent or shared ownership homes please note the following:
New Business enquiries only: If your enquiry relates to new business in the affordable housing sector, we would be pleased to talk with you, please email us: affordablehousing@nhbc.co.uk

Issues for a tenant/shared owner: If you are having issues with your home you should first contact your housing association/landlord.
If you need to take this up with NHBC please direct your enquiry to the claims team who can provide some advice.
The easiest way to do this is to use the 'Making a new claim' form.
The form will take you through the information required and will let you know if we are able to assist,or pass your enquiry to the relevant team.
The claims team usually aim to respond to online requests to make a claim within 5 working days.
Alternatively, you can call them on 0800 035 6422.
