Job role: Finance Business Partner

Salary: £50,000 – £55,000 + 10% performance bonus

Working location: Hybrid – 2 days in our Milton Keynes office, with flexibility to increase office attendance when required by business priorities.

Job summary:

We’re looking for a strategic, forward thinking Finance Business Partner to join our Financial Planning and Analysis team at NHBC. You’ll work closely with Heads of Departments and senior stakeholders as a trusted advisor – shaping plans, challenging assumptions, and driving high quality financial decision making across the business. You will be an essential part of budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes, as well as improving our finance systems.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Acting as the primary finance business partner for assigned business areas, building strong and trusted relationships
  • Challenge assumptions and guiding stakeholders through operational and strategic decisions
  • Turning complex financial data into clear, actionable insights
  • Monitoring performance, budget variances and financial trends, raising early warning signals.
  • Supporting the annual business planning, budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Enhancing finance self-service reporting and dashboards to improve visibility and decision-making
  • Contributing to cross-functional projects and continuous improvement across Finance

What we’re looking for:

  • Proven experience in a Finance Business Partnering or similar FP&A role
  • Fully qualified accountant (CIMA or ACCA) or qualified by experience
  • Strong Excel skills and confidence using business intelligence tools such as Jedox, PowerBI /Tableau.
  • Curious and proactive self-starter who enjoys partnering with stakeholders and influencing decisions
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to simplify and tell the story behind the numbers
  • Comfortable leading ad-hoc projects and working across multiple teams
  • Experience in a similarly sized organisation is a plus
