It’s National Careers Week and the perfect time to introduce NHBC’s newest apprenticeships expert Josh Golding.

Josh has been working in the house-building industry for over five years and has extensive experience of working with apprentices and trainees at a major housebuilder.

Talking about his new role Josh said, “NHBC is clearly passionate about helping close the skills gap in housebuilding and it’s great to be joining at such a pivotal point in the development of its apprenticeship programme.” He added, “There’s already been an amazing uptake for the Construction Site Supervisor Apprenticeship that started last year and I’m really looking forward to the launch of our Bricklaying Apprenticeship later this year.”

Josh is joining NHBC to focus on promoting and developing our apprenticeship scheme and he will also act as a vital point of contact between our apprentices and house-builder customers. He went on to say, “NHBC Apprenticeships are a fantastic route into the house-building industry. They offer hands-on site experience as well as the dedicated support and expertise of our tutors.”

As a Construction Ambassador Josh is passionate about inspiring others, he added, “Apprentices are a unique learning experience and part of my role is to make sure we are always meeting their needs. They will be learning with us for up to 18 months, that’s why it’s so important they receive top quality training that sets them up for great future careers.”
