NHBC’s Land Quality Service attended the recent UK Brownfield Regeneration Summit 2025 in Manchester, playing its part to shape the conversation around sustainable development.
Specialist Geotechnical Engineer Andy Clark featured in a panel discussing how to unlock the value of challenging sites.
Joining representatives from Homes England and the National Brownfield Institute, Andy explored the benefits of collaboration between consultants, contractors and developers, the need to reskill and upskill new entrants to the sector, the importance of balancing innovation and risk and how to engage the community with the right story.
The new conference brought together brownfield experts, developers, landowners, planners, investors and regulators, with a particular focus on sustainability and minimising environmental impact.
Andy said: “It’s always great to connect with colleagues from across the sector and share ideas about maximising the value of much-needed, high-potential land.
“As specialists in land quality with expertise in all things geotechnical and geo-environmental, our team is here to help landowners, developers and builders to de-risk their sites.
“It’s only with early engagement between all relevant stakeholders that we can achieve smooth developments on brownfield sites across the UK and contribute towards tackling the housing crisis.”
The conference was followed by the Brownfield Awards, with Andy presenting the Best Early Career Brownfield Professional trophy and NHBC being the ceremony's Gold Sponsor.
