A construction NVQ is a benchmark qualification that proves your occupational competence to current and future employers. NVQs are a great way to build your career in construction and some can also lead to membership in professional organisations as well as Gold or Black CSCS cards.
NHBC offer NVQs from Levels 3 to 7 in subjects focussed on construction site management, site inspection and contract operations. We work hard to make sure we match candidates with the right level of NVQ to set them up for success.
Calum explained ‘I’d been in construction for some time, and I’d also been over to New Zealand for a year to work on Union Green, a project which really broadened my experience. I think getting more experience is great especially alongside qualifications like NVQs which formally evidence the things you’ve learned; it’s really useful if you want advancement. I’d already completed my Level 4 and felt more than ready to progress to Level 6.’
Calum has now achieved his NVQ Level 6 and is enjoying his role as a Senior Site Manager for Countryside Partnerships at Orton Copse in Peterborough.
Richard Bambridge, Future Talent Lead at Vistry Group, Countryside Partnerships parent group said ‘It’s great that Calum has completed his NVQ and he is a huge asset to the team at Orton Copse. Vistry is committed to investing in formalised qualifications and personal development, and everyone at Countryside applauds Calum for his hard work to achieve his Level 6.’
NHBC is committed to raising standards in house building by championing high-quality homes and are proud to offer qualifications that aid individual career progression and meet the needs of house builders.
