My name is Tia Elliot Flecking and I work in customer service.
I find our customer service team sets a high standard within the industry, and there are lots of contributing factors.
We all show genuine interest in understanding the customer's needs and taking ownership of their experience, which helps us forge relationships with our customers, built on loyalty and trust.
What keeps me growing within the company is a blend of personal development plans and one-on-one sessions with my team leader.
I find this personally encourages me to strive to want to do more as I'm given the confidence to do so.
NHBC encourages continuous learning, offers clear growth paths and encourages collaboration to create an environment where colleagues feel inspired to contribute and improve.
Seeing the impact of my work, giving customer satisfaction and seeing the company's success can be a powerful motivator alongside constant recognition of hard work by means of on the spot rewards, spotlight recognition from my colleagues and the general positive attitude within the team.
I find the environment within customer service very positive and the shared sense of purpose motivates you to want to do your best.
When colleagues are genuinely supportive of one another, whether that's true brainstorming for solutions or celebrating wins together, it really creates a strong sense of community.
Others would really enjoy being a part of this team. As leadership is very approachable and values employees input, it makes the workplace feel dynamic and motivating.
