Engineering is often mistaken as a physically demanding site based job, but it is primarily office based, especially at the NHBC.
Another myth is that construction sites are unsafe for women. However, companies now enforce policies for safety, inclusivity and flexibility. Many women thrive in leadership roles, proving success is about skill, not gender.
Construction is a male dominated industry with unique challenges, but women can and do succeed. My top tips are to develop assertive communication, build strong networks and seek mentorship.
