NHBC, the UK’s leading new home warranty and insurance provider, has launched a recruitment drive in response to growing demand, as the housebuilding industry continues to bounce back strongly from the pandemic. With new build home registrations reaching a 14-year high in Q2 of 2021, NHBC is bolstering its Operations teams to continue delivering a high level of service and build confidence in the construction quality of new homes.

More than 75 new roles will be available across the UK in NHBC’s Inspection and Technical Operations teams including 16 Trainee Building Inspector roles. Successful candidates will enter NHBC’s newly re-opened Building Inspector Academy (BI Academy), an established route into building inspection with the opportunity to gain recognised qualifications, alongside experience and competencies.

New recruits will be the ninth cohort of trainees to enter the BI Academy which is designed to support those new to inspection and equip them with the skills and knowledge they need to be a successful NHBC Building Inspector. Once qualified, Building Inspectors will be able to progress through the Inspection team into a broad range of roles, supporting NHBC’s ambition to ‘grow our own’ talent and offer colleagues longer-term career options.

Commenting on the recruitment drive, Diane Marshall, Operations Director at NHBC said:

“We’re delighted to announce that, in response to the remarkable levels of growth in the housebuilding sector, we are recruiting for more than 75 new roles in our Technical Operations and Inspection teams, including investment in Building Inspector trainee roles. This is to ensure we are able to continue to deliver a high level of service in response to increasing demand.

“It is really encouraging to see the housebuilding sector go from strength to strength after a difficult and challenging period. By adding greater capacity to our teams, and investing in our training academy, we can continue to play our part in ensuring new build homes meet the highest quality standards.”
