NHBC launches Health & Safety Awards 2020
10 September 2019
House builders across the UK are being encouraged to enter the NHBC’s Health and Safety Awards 2020, launched this week. This is the ultimate competition for house builders with exceptional health and safety standards.
NHBC, the leading warranty and insurance provider for new homes in the UK, launched the Health and Safety Awards in 2009 and it is the only UK competition exclusively for house builders. The awards recognise and reward site managers who demonstrate best practice in health and safety, prioritising the wellbeing of their teams and the public.
An NHBC Health and Safety Award is a credit to any company whether small, medium or large. With so much emphasis today on health and safety competence, an NHBC award will certainly enhance your credentials in competitive tenders.
Many home builders have invested heavily in their health and safety systems, processes and procedures. There’s a lot of good practice in the industry and these Awards provide the perfect opportunity to showcase this and for NHBC to give industry-wide recognition to those leading the way. Highly qualified judges visit the sites looking at key areas such as effective planning for Health and Safety before a project starts, a well-trained site manager and an infrastructure that supports the site manager in Health and Safety matters.
Simon Mantle, NHBC Group Health and Safety Policy Manager, said: “Since 2009, NHBC’s Health and Safety Awards have been rewarding the very best health and safety practices across the UK house-building industry.
“Success in these awards offers site managers and their companies the chance of national recognition as well as the opportunity to share best practice amongst peers and colleagues.
“We look forward to receiving plenty of entries from builders of all sizes over the coming months.”
The top scoring sites will be recognised with a Commended award in spring 2020. These winners will then compete for Highly Commended, National Runners Up and National Winners’ awards to be announced at a ceremony in summer 2020.
The awards are open to all NHBC registered builders who are actively involved in the construction of new homes and existing NHBC health and safety site inspection customers can enter up to three sites free of charge. For further information and to apply please click here.
